Bangladesh opening batsman, Tamim Iqbal has been ruled out of their ongoing South Africa tour. Tamim aggravated his thigh injury in the second One-Day International (ODI) and now is flying back home. Bangladesh have already lost the 3-ODI South Africa 0-2, with one game remaining. Tamim will also miss the 2-Twenty20 International series (T20I) that follows.

Tamim injured his thigh during practice before the first Test itself at Benoni. According to a report in Cricbuzz, Tamim is to have known played the Test in pain. He was rested for the second Test and the first ODI thereafter. Tamim is now set to miss the initial few weeks of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2017-18.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has asked Mominul Haque to stay back until the end of the tour. Mominul has picked for only the ODIs, now finds a place in the T20I squad as well.

Earlier, ace bowler Mustafizur Rahman was ruled out of the entire tour without even bowling a ball. The lanky fast bowler picked up an ankle injury leading into the Test series. BCB sent in Shafiul Islam as Mustafizur s replacement.
