Tamim, who represents Chittagong Vikings in BPL, was initially being expected to miss a few matches of the T20 tournament, the batsman has confirmed he might miss the whole of it if he fails to become completely fit. Tamim left the South Africa tour midway to return home after he pulled a muscle in his left thigh for the second time within a span of two weeks, while fielding in the first Test.

Impact of injury

"Initially the plan was skipping some BPL matches, but it is too early to say now because I will be in two weeks of rehab. Maybe then I can talk about it. But it is for sure that I cannot play the first two matches, Cricbuzz reported Tamim saying.

[link-to-post url="https://www.cricketcountry.com/news/tamim-iqbal-ruled-out-of-bangladeshs-ongoing-tour-of-south-africa-653135"][/link-to-post]

Bangladesh comes first

My message is clear. National team my first priority. I will not play until I get fully cured. I don't think medical staff also will support the idea of playing any match until I get fully cured. We have a big series against Sri Lanka ahead of us. No matter how many BPL matches I miss, I will play after I get completely healed," he added.
