Bangladesh fast bowlers Taskin Ahmed and Arafat Sunny are optimistic about their bowling actions getting the green flag in Australia. Both the bowlers will be under the scanner as they will be tested at the ICC’s Brisbane National Cricket Centre (NCC). Taskin and Sunny were suspended for suspicious bowling action during ICC T20 World Cup 2016. Bangladesh’s head coach and former Sri Lankan all-rounder Chandika Hathurusingha will be accompanying the Bangladesh pace duo to Australia. The tests are to be held on September 8, Hathurusingha has two days to help Taskin and Sunny duo in order to get their bowling action cleared. It will be a big moment for Bangladesh cricket as Taskin and Sunny are future prospect for the team. ALSO READ: Taskin Ahmed, Arafat Sunny suspended for illegal bowling actions during T20 World Cup
Sunny told ESPNCricinfo, “We have been toiling hard for the last few months. The review committee, our coaching staff and team-mates have all inspired us. Our bowling actions are better. But there will be pressure as it is indeed a matter of an examination. Hopefully, if we can do our work properly, we will come back to international cricket.”
Their bad phase started when their bowling actions were reported during ICC T20 World Cup 2016, they were tested shortly in a ICC-accredited centre in Chennai and were found violating the basic norms. Taskin said, “We are going with a positive mindset. We are, of course, excited and optimistic that we will back with positive results. We seek everyone’s blessings so that we can return to international cricket from the next home series. I believe we have put enough effort in the last four to five months.
“The coach and local experts have supported us. In the last four months, (Mahbub Ali) Zaki sir worked with me. Our head coach will be there with us. Hopefully it will give additional inspiration. The senior players also supported us mentally. We will breeze through the test if the blessings from all are with us,” he added.
