Opener Virender Sehwag, who is recovering from a rib injury, took part in the session. Left-arm seamer Ashish Nehra, who was suffering from back spasms, also went through the paces.

The practice session started with coach Gary Kirsten having a discussion with the players followed by a throwing exercise to improve concentration and accuracy.

It may be mentioned here that some players like Sachin Tendulkar, Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan, Shanthakumaran Sreesanth and Suresh Raina skipped the optional practice session on Wednesday.
