Chasing 490, Pakistan had fallen short by 39 runs by collapsing for 450. On a lighter note, the Test is also remembered for the pool deck for the spectators in one of the stands. It became an instant hit with crowds flocking in large numbers not only to enjoy the proceedings, but also to escape the searing Brisbane heat (no pun intended). According to latest reports, Cricket Australia is again keen on arranging a pool deck for the much-anticipated 2017-18 Ashes opener at Brisbane. The first Test will be played from November 23.

CA's General Manager Anthony Everard said, "The introduction of the Pool Deck last year was hugely popular and we are very happy to be giving our fans what they want and bringing back the pool for this summer. The imagery last year of fans cooling off in the pool while watching enthralling cricket matches was wonderful to see, and I am sure that there are plenty of English fans in particular who are eager for their chance to get on the deck this summer and have a reprieve from the Australian summer heat." With the pool deck set to return, the Ashes opener will surely be a sellout in Brisbane.
