Tino Best to replace injured Shannon Gabriel in West Indies squad

Tino Best is all set to replace young Shannon Gabriel in the West Indies squad for the ongoing Test series against England, after the latter was ruled out of action due to a back injury.

 

The International Cricket Council informed on social networking site Twitter, “West Indies paceman Shannon Gabriel to return home with a back injury, Tino Best named his replacement.”

 

Gabriel made his Test debut for the Caribbean side in the first Test at Lord’s, which his side lost by five wickets on the final day by five wickets after producing a fighting performance.

 

Gabriel shone with the ball in the first innings, taking three wickets for 60 runs to keep England to 398.

 

The right-arm pacer bagged the key wicket of Kevin Pietersen in the second innings, as his side staged an admirable fight back.

 

Gabriel’s replacement, Barbados pacer Best has bagged 28 wickets from 14 Tests for the West Indies.
