Tom Latham scored his fifth half-century in Tests in the second Test between England and New Zealand at Headingley. He has been the lone star for New Zealand. Ross Taylor and Latham combined to bring the Kiwis back in the game with a 66-run stand after James Anderson struck twice to get rid of both Martin Guptill and Kane Williamson for ducks. Latham though did not shy away and was intent on putting the bad balls to the fence. He and Taylor were going great guns when Stuart Broad dismissed Taylor for 20.
