Seven-time Tour-de-France champion Lance Armstrong on Monday wished India s ailing cricketer Yuvraj Singh a speedy recovery, who is currently undergoing chemotherapy for germ cancer in the US.

Yuvraj is deriving inspiration from Armstrong, who fought cancer to win later on in his career.

Armstrong said in his message to Yuvraj that the entire Livestrong team is with him and his family and they are ready to provide help in every manner possible.

The Indian cricketer wrote on his Twitter page, “I look forward to meet lance armstrong soon and take inspiration!,” he wrote.

Founded in 1997 by Armstrong, Livestrong is a non-profit organisation that provides support to people affected by cancer.

After being diagnosed of cancer in 1996, Armstrong went on to win the Tour de France each year from 1999 to 2005, and is the only person to win seven times, having broken the previous record of five wins.

According to the Doctors treating Yuvraj, the star cricketer has shown tremendous courage and has kept his spirits high all this while.

“…He has been reading; has read Lance Armstrong’s books and is playing video games, going for long walks and sometimes jogging. He is committed to his therapy and recovery,” a Doctor treating Yuvraj said few days ago.

India s World Cup hero Yuvraj is also reading the autobiography of the renowned American cyclist, “It’s Not About the Bike: My Journey Back to Life”.

“Reading lance Armstrong s book it’s not about the bike ! I’m sure it will motivate me and pull me throu this time! Livestrong yuvstrong!” Yuvraj wrote on Twitter a few days ago.
