Bihar’s young star Vaibhav Suryavanshi has made a sensational start to the Vijay Hazare Trophy. On Wednesday, December 24, 2025, he played a blistering innings of 190 runs off just 84 balls against Arunachal Pradesh. The left-handed batter smashed 16 fours and 15 sixes, taking the opposition bowlers to task at the JSCA Oval Ground, Ranchi. His strike rate was an extraordinary 226.19. The 14-year-old, who is also Bihar’s vice-captain, brought up his century in just 36 balls, reaching his maiden List A hundred in the 12th over. With this, he became the youngest Indian to score a century in List A cricket.
Vaibhav has also moved up to second place in the list of batsmen with the most sixes in a single Vijay Hazare Trophy match. The record for the most sixes in a single match of this domestic cricket tournament belongs to Ruturaj Gaikwad, who hit 16 sixes in his innings of 220 runs against Uttar Pradesh while playing for Maharashtra. Narayan Jagadeesan is third on the list, having hit 15 sixes in his innings of 277 runs against Andhra Pradesh for Tamil Nadu.
