Varun Aaron will return to India in the wake of his grandfather’s death and  will rejoin the team in Australia only on December 31. His departure wont affect his participation in the Sydney Test as it has been pushed back to January 6.

Aaron had played the first two Tests of the series against Australia at Adelaide and Brisbane but was largely ineffective. His insipid bowling performances in the first two matches led to his omission from the playing eleven in the third Test at Melbourne. India have failed to bowl Australia out thrice in four innings on the tour so far and as a result trail the four match Test series two nil.
