The Masters Champions League (MCL), which commences on Thursday, January 28 in Dubai, has been making waves across the social media platforms. The tournament which is exclusively for retired cricketers, will be witnessing participation from some of the top former cricketers and cricketing legends.

Recently, the official social media account of MCL posted a video featuring former South African skipper Graeme Smith, all-time greatest fielder Jonty Rhodes and former English cricketer of South African origin Jonathan Trott, where the three can be seen discussing about their Protea connection.

While Rhodes and Smith have played for their country together at the international level, Trott has played with Smith at the Under-19 level, when the Proteas Under-19 team toured Pakistan in early 1999. Trott later moved to England to pursue a career for the three Lions. Incidentally, Smith replaced Rhodes in the ICC Cricket World Cup squad 2003, when the latter got injured. Watch the video here as the three players relive those days and talk about the bond they share.
