Video: Jim Carter, Stephen Fry and others talk about their favourite current cricketers

In the previous video from this series, we brought to you some well known English personalities, who spoke about their earliest cricket memories and revealed why they love cricket. The video begins with actor and presenter Stephen Fry, who names former New Zealand skipper Daniel Vettori as one of his favourite cricketers. He believes that Vettori, who never looked like an athlete, has been a prime example of what sheer willpower can make you. Fry returns later in the video once again to name the England outcast Kevin Pietersen, Test skipper Alastair Cook and South African ODI skipper AB de Villiers as his other favourites, who, he believes, are extraordinary batsmen.

English actor Jim Carter then says how he likes Andrew “Freddie” Flintoff, who epitomises a fighter on the cricket field, somebody a hardcore fan absolutely loves to see. He further says he likes Flintoff because every time he stepped on to the field, he made things happen, gave an impression that something is going to happen. Hayley McQueen reveals she too is a Flintoff fan. She loves him for his carefree attitude, headline-making nature and for the ‘Big’ character that he is.

Radio DJ Greg James then shares how he is absolutely in awe of the young Joe Root, who he believes is supremely talented. He simply loves the way Root has approached Test cricket and succeeded in it. Former footballer towards the end, Dietmar Hamann also appears in the video, naming Root as his favourite besides James Anderson.
