We associate the word ‘gentleman’ with cricket, and we expect the English team to epitomise it. The England team which is currently in United Arab Emirates for a series against Pakistan and have come out of the comfort zone from the pleasant cold weather of the United Kingdom to the hot and arid Abu Dhabi, seem to be having a good time.
In the video released by England Cricket, we find how the fast bowlers are adapting to the scorching heat of this part of the world. Seamer Mark Wood plays the moderator and shows us around. First he is with bowling coach Ottis Gibson trying to pick up a trick or two. Wood bowled just to get his run-up right and feel good about him; it was more of a technical session.
Then we enter the English dressing room and the boys are caught napping, checking their equipments and giving us a ground zero feel of things behind the scenes. Wood plays a prank on his teammate James Taylor and gifts him a new mini-sized bat (indirectly poking fun at the batsman’s small built) and a pair of gloves.
Wood then gives the viewers an insight about sports bra that English cricketers have been wearing for a while. He says it has a GPS device which gives a clearer picture of distance travelled and a whole lot of other things. Better hear it from the horse’s mouth.
