He is tall and fast which is an ideal blend and a proven world-class fast bowler. Morne Morkel has risen as a cricketer and all batsmen across the world fear him today. Along with Dale Steyn, he leads the Protean pace mantle that is currently in India.

Hashim Amla in praise of his colleague says that Morkel is one of the fittest players he knows of. His bowling partner for long Steyn also says that he (Morkel) is the go-to bowler for du Plessis or Amla.
