VIDEO: Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni don’t find place in Kumar Sangakkara’s All-Time XI

Sachin Tendulkar and MS Dhoni are undoubtedly two of the greatest cricketers that India have produced. Despite their immense reputation, the duo failed to find a place in Kumar Sangakkara’s All-Time XI. The former Sri Lankan captain and wicketkeeper-batsman Sangakkara revealed this All-Time XI in a video posted by Lord’s Ground from their official Twitter account. As always, the selection was based on the fact, the player should have played with or against them or have influenced by them. Former Australian opener Matthew Hayden and one of the best batsmen from India — Rahul Dravid will be the openers in his XI, while Brian Lara will join at No. 3, followed by former Australian captain Ricky Ponting. After the top four, Sangakkara has named Aravinda de Silva as captain and his No. 5 batsman, which will strengthen the middle order. De Silva was earlier picked by Angelo Mathews in his XI. The right-hander has inspired many over the years and enjoys a role model status in Sri Lanka. SEE MORE: Sachin Tendulkar, Chris Gayle chosen as openers in Brendon McCullum’s All-Time XI

After the middle order, there comes the all-rounders and Sangakkara named Jacques Kallis, followed by Adam Gilchrist. The batting order seems to be very balanced with both attacking and calm players. Looking at the bowling department, it looks pretty lethal with the likes of two greatest spinners of all time — Shane Warne and Muttiah Muralitharan. Sangakkara shared the dressing room with Muralitharan for a long period for Sri Lanka. The pace battery hails two of the world’s greatest swing bowlers and they are none other than Wasim Akram and Chaminda Vaas.

Kumar Sangakkara’s All Time XI: Matthew Hayden, Rahul Dravid, Brian Lara, Ricky Ponting, Aravinda de Silva (c), Jacques Kallis, Adam Gilchrist (wk), Shane Warne, Muttiah Muralitharan, Wasim Akram, Chaminda Vaas.
