He is called the ‘Matara Mauler’ for a reason. Sanath Jayasuriya in his prime has destroyed the best of bowling attacks in the word. The man who scripted the World Cup 1996 win for Sri Lanka showed glimpses of his hey days in a recent invitational match in Norway.
Even at the age of 46, he continues to murder attack, even though it wasn’t a professional one. Since his retirement, fans and followers might have parched to see him back in action and this video will surely please them.
He looks in rhythm and the shots are still coming. It’s difficult for any cricketer to play with such aggression even after retirement. But Jayasuriya has defied all the odds and displayed a wonderful batting. It seems that age is just a number for the Sri Lankan legend.
