VIDEO: When Sachin Tendulkar got furious on VVS Laxman

Indian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar is widely reckoned for his cool and composed stature in the game. He is not an intimidating cricketer and lets his bat do the talking, Tendulkar throughout his career has been hardly seen getting angry or losing cool on the ground. During a One-Day International (ODI) encounter against Australia, Tendulkar was spotted getting furious over his non-striker VVS LaxmanAlso Read: ‘Sad that Rio ambassador controversy fizzled out after Sachin Tendulkar’s appointment’, says Salman Khan

It was the sixth ODI of the Coca-Cola Cup in 1998 at Sharjah, when Laxman denied a quick single, which made the master blaster go ballistic. India were chasing a mammoth target if 276 in 46 overs (revised target). A quick delivery from Damien Fleming struck Tendulkar’s pad as the whole Australian team went up for an appeal. Also Read: Sachin Tendulkar stands up for society; donates INR 76 lakh for building school in West Bengal

Tendulkar, in a rush of blood perhaps, wanted to steal a quick single but his partner at the non-trikers end was not up for it. He asked Tendulkar to go return from mid-way which annoyed him as the latter was saved by a whisker. Tendulkar reacted with some livid expressions and fuming words, which is very rare for a player of his class and temperament.

Australia won the game by 26 runs (revised target) but this moment was certainly one of the highlights of the game and will be remembered for generations to come.
