Mumbai finished on a score of 286 for the loss of eight wickets at the end of their quota of 50 overs against Karnataka in the third quarter-final of the ongoing Vijay Hazare Tophy at the Reliance Stadium in Vadodara on Friday.

Opener, Akhil Herwadkar and Wasim Jaffer took control, but couldn’t last long enough as they both fell for 17 and 18 respectively at the score of 59.

However, it was then the pair of Shreyas Iyer and Suryakumar Yadav who put on a 135-runpartnership before getting dismissed for 77 and 67 respectively. Aditya Tare scored 28 before getting dismissed by Arvind Sreenath.

As the tail-enders creeped in, they too were shaky and and failed to score big with Wilkin scoring just 8 while Abhishek Nayar getting run out on 21. Nevertheless, they have put up a commanding total which means Karnataka have to sweat it out to achieve the target of 287 in 50 overs.
