New revelations emerged that jailed actor Vindoo Dara Singh tried to befriend Kings XI Punjab cricketers Adam Gilchrist and Manpreet Gony during Indian Premier League’s (IPL) sixth edition.

A Mumbai Police Crime Branch Officer also said that Vindoo was involved in cricket betting activities since 1990. The jailed actor used to regularly contact players, umpires and team officials to get inside information which would assist him in betting activities.

“Some months ago, Vindoo had invited Manpreet Gony and Adam Gilchrist for the launch of an electronic product in Mumbai, where expensive watches were gifted to the attendees. He was trying to strike a close friendship with them in an attempt to use them in the future but they were not very responsive,” an officer was quoted as saying in Indian Express.

However, the crime branch is yet to talk to the two players to confirm or deny the reports.
