Royal Challengers Bangalore‘s AB de Villiers continued his scintillating form and smashed a quickfire 83 from just 46 deliveries in the 16th game of the Indian Premier League against Rising Pune Supergiants at Pune on Friday. RCB skipper is certainly happy as his team is now back on track after losing couple of games on a trot. Both Kohli and De Villiers are reckoned as one of the best batsmen in contemporary cricket and has often praised on each other for their supreme batsmanship. Kohli while speaking in the post-match presentation at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune once again spoke highly about De Villiers and addressed him as the best in the world. FULL CRICKET SCORECARD: Rising Pune Supergiants vs Royal Challengers Bangalore, IPL 2016, Match 16 at Pune

Kohli said, “That really was closer than we thought it would be at one stage. But it’s good to cross the line. We were playing good cricket and all what we needed was composure at the right moments. But I do like to win the toss next time.” Live Cricket Updates Rising Pune Supergiants (RPS) vs Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) IPL 2016

RCB have successfully defended their total for the second time in the tournament and Kohli on this said, “[Shane] Watson showed his experience while Kane (Richardson) finished things off quite well. It was good that the guys did not panic.”

On de Villiers Kohli said, “We spoke about getting 175-180, but I wasn’t happy with myself especially the way I batted after facing 30-35 balls. I then figured out that it was important to stay in with AB. He kept me going and told me to play the anchor role so that he could play his shots. The surface didn’t have that much bounce to hit shots at will.”

Kohli certainly thinks that De Villiers is also a selfless person and how things get easy when he is at the crease. Kohli said, “AB is the best batsman of our generation. It’s a pleasure to bat alongside him. The way he communicates, he’s a selfless person. He doesn’t care about his own plans, but helps people around him. He’s a better human being than a batsman.”
