After a good spell of overs from nine to 12, Virat Kohli and Yuvraj Singh were on the attack and were looking at ease in the middle. Virat Kohli went forward, then romped back an little and smashed a big six over deep mid-wicket. The Bangalore batsmen were looking dangerous in the middle and Chennai suddenly looked to be searching for answers. With Chennai losing three on the trot, they needed the batsmen to step up.

In the times of adversity, big men stand up and it was the the wily moustache genius in Rvindra Jadeja. After doing all the initial hard work, Yuvraj holed out to deep mid-wicket and another wicket was down. Kohli meanwhile smashed a superb six of Badree and was looking set for a big score.

Ravichandran Ashwin came for the fifth over and he trapped Takawale leg-before as he came from round the wicket. Mohit then came on to bowl the sixth over. Zol lofted him first ball over mid-off, and got two for it. And then Zol was bowled as he tried to go over the top and missed it.

Earlier, Chennai won the toss and chose to bowl first. They made a few changes to the side with Badree and Nehra coming in. Bangalore also made changes, as many as four in number. Chris Gayle was dropped from the side for this match.
