The nation witnessed another horrifying day when four militants got involved in a gun battle with Indian army soldiers in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) on Sunday morning. The incident saw 17 Indian soldiers being killed while 20 were injured. All the four militants were gunned down by the soldiers but the loss of Indian soldiers was irreparable. The four militants crashed in the administrative building of an infantry battalion in Uri, which is the home of the 12 Infantry Brigade, near LOC. The ill-fated incident attracted enormous attention and many people including stars, politicians; celebrities condemned this shameful act by the terrorists.

Indian Test captain Virat Kohli  also opened up on this tragic incident and took to his Twitter handle to express his sympathy. He also paid homage to the Indian martyrs and posted a picture and wrote, “This picture fills me with emotions I can’t explain. To all the brave hearts, Jai Hind #UriAttack #Kashmir.”

As per the latest reports, the Indian army has also been suggesting that the findings from the killed terrorists were from Pakistan based Jaish-e-Muhammad who came across the LOC. It’s one of the darkest days in the history of mankind and many cricketers have voiced their opinion on micro blogging site Twitter.

Kohli as of now is gearing up to lead the side in the Test series against New Zealand at home. India will play three Tests and five One-Day Internationals (ODIs) in the series. The first Test commences on September 22 at Kanpur.
