Kolkata: After anchoring India to six-wicket victory against Pakistan in the World Twenty20, Man of the Match Virat Kohli said score on the board helped him to calculate better and that was the reason for his success in run-chases. “I think a score on the board always helps me calculate better,” he said after his 33-ball 55-run knock that fashioned India’s win at the Eden Gardens. Kohli noted it was a challenging wicket. “You need new challenges every innings that you play.” Kohli said he was disappointed after getting out in the 20s in India’s previous encounter against New Zealand. “I knew if I had scored 40-45 we could have won. That really hurt because we do not bat like that at home,” he said, adding, “Today it was all about keeping calm and luckily I got a great partnership with Yuvraj.” FULL CRICKET SCORECARD: India vs Pakistan, Group B Match 19 of ICC T20 World Cup at Eden Gardens

With Virat Kohli scripting yet another famous victory — this time against arch-rivals Pakistan — Indian skipper M.S. Dhoni has attributed the talismanic batsman’s hunger to perform and willingness to take up the challenge as the propelling factors behind his amazing consistency. “His biggest plus point is he takes everything as a challenge. He wants to improve. He wants to contribute in every game. He wants to score every game. The hunger to perform, the willingness to take up the challenge — that makes him special,” said Dhoni. Kohli scored an unbeaten 37-ball 55 to enable his side humble Pakistan by six wickets in a World Twenty20 match at the Eden Gardens here on Saturday night.
