Virat Kohli has scored a fifty in the third One-Day International (ODI) between India and Australia at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). That makes it Kohli’s third fifty in as many games in this series. He got to fifty off just 51 deliveries, but he will not be content with just a fifty and will look to convert it into a hundred. Earlier in the innings he reached the milestone of 7,000 runs in the ODI format and became the fastest to it getting it in just his 161st innings. He has Shikhar Dhawan for company at the other end and the duo have been looking good. FULL CRICKET SCORECARD: India vs Australia 2015-16, 3rd ODI at MCG

Dhawan has also scored a fifty at the other end and reached the milestone only one delivery after Kohli did. The batsmen have shown great intent and after a rusty start Dhawan is starting to open up. The partnership is coming along nicely and India will look to cash in after a strong base. Australia will be eyeing a wicket or two to throw a spanner in India’s works. Earlier Australia skipper Steven Smith opted to put India in after having won the toss. Chasing has worked very well for them in the previous two ODIs and they will look to replicate the trend here at Melbourne. Australia will want to close the series win by winning this game. For India it is now a do-or-die situation in terms of trying to keep the series alive having lost the first two games at Perth and Brisbane.
