Match 14 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018 between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) saw records tumble left, right and centre, Virat Kohli being the centre of attraction. He surpassed Gautam Gambhir s tally of 53 T20 half-centuries.

Kohli now has 54 T20 half-centuries more than any Indian; Gambhir second is followed by Rohit Sharma (50). Rohit reached this milestone in the same match as Kohli. Out of 54 T20 fifties, Kohli has 18 T20Is half-centuries. Kohli became the first player in the game to complete 5,000 runs in T20 format for single team.

Earlier in the night, when he reached to 33, he became the highest run-getter in IPL history, surpassing Suresh Raina s tally 4,558. He also has 424 runs for them in CLT20.
