Virat Kohli surpasses Suresh Raina to become IPL’s highest-ever run-getter

Kohli, who started the innings 17 short of 8000 T20 runs, got to the mark off his tenth ball of the innings, becoming only the the second Indian player to the landmark after Raina.  Right from the word go, Kohli was in sublime touch, opening his account with a picture-perfect cover drive off the first over bowled by Prasidh Krishna, he followed it up with another one leaning forward for his second boundary.(FOLLOW SCORE: RCB vs KKR)

He soon got to his 37th IPL fifty off 30 balls with another four off Piyush Chawla and surpassed Raina when he reached 60. Raina in 180 matches for CSK has 5086 runs to his name at an average of 34.13, while Kohli now sits on top with 5110 runs from 168 matches at an average of 38.13. While Kohli had four centuries and 35 fifties for RCB in the IPL, Suresh Raina and one century and 35 fifties in the IPL, playing for CSK and Gujarat Lions.

Third on the list is Mumbai Indians’ skipper Rohit Sharma with 4600 runs in 177 matches at 31.72 followed by David Warner with 4278 runs in 118 matches (Delhi Daredevils and Sunrisers Hyderabad) at 41.94.
