India‘s star batsman Virat Kohli has wished the very talented Ajinkya Rahane, a very happy 28th birthday. Kohli tweeted that he hopes that Rahane has a wonderful day and a great year ahead. He further added that it is his wish that Rahane remains blessed. Rahane was born on June 6, 1988. He is one of the very talented Indian batsmen, and holds the distinction of having a good overseas record. The only other current Indian batsman which comes to our mind who is performing quite well overseas is Kohli. We hope that Rahane, who played for Rising Pune Supergiants (RPS) in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2016, has an amazing year ahead. Ajinkya Rahane: I love facing challenges and responsibilities

Rahane has been a prolific run-scorer in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He used to open for Rajasthan Royals (RR) in past few seasons, and carried the same responsibility for his new side, Rising Pune Supergiants (RPS) in the recently concluded IPL 9. Looking at his T20 records, in 18 international games Rahane has scored 364 runs at 21.41 with one half-century. But IPL is where he has earned a lot of success in the shortest format, as in 95 T20s, Rahane has scored 2,675 runs with one century and 23 half-centuries. Is Ajinkya Rahane as potent in T20I as he is in Test cricket?

Rahane has firmly established himself as one of the key batsmen for India going ahead. After 22 Tests, he averages a handsome 44.97 with 6 centuries and 7 half-centuries. On the other hand, he has played 67 ODIs and 18 T20Is for India after making his debut in the two formats in the limited-overs leg of the England tour 2011. Ajinkya Rahane: Lynchpin of Team India

In 22 Tests, Rahane has scored 1,619 runs at 44.97, whereas in 67 ODIs, he has scored 2,093 runs at 33.22. For someone who bats the middle order, Rahane has done well to have managed 2 centuries and 15 half-centuries in ODI cricket.
