In the 29th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2014, Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) made a solid start thanks to Virender Sehwag’s early blitzkrieg but lost two quick wickets after his opening partner Mandeep Singh departed after Chennai Super Kings (CSK)’s leading wicket taker, Mohit Sharma scalping the wicket after a slash from the Punjab batsman landed at third and Ishwar Pandey did well to pouch the ball under the lights in Cuttack.

After hammering Ben Hilfenhaus in the early overs, the Australian took another beating with a huge six by the former Indian opener. Sehwag picked a length ball and smacked it past the long on boundary for a six. Mohit Sharma bowled the next over and things were calm for a few deliveries before Sehwag pierced the gap between second slip and gully to get another boundary. Mohit only gave five runs of the over though.

Hilfenhaus had the last laugh though, bringing the end to Sehwag’s innings after an unlucky inside edge hit the stumps.
