In honour of Virender Sehwag, the Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) named the two ends at the Feroz Shah Kotla as Viru 309 end and Viru 319 end. This is to mark the fact that Sehwag has scored two triple centuries for India and is the only player to do so. Sehwag announced in October that he will retire from international cricket. Sehwag has over 8,000 runs in Tests and One-Day Internatinals (ODI). He was part off the squad that won the ICC World T20 2007 in South Africa and also the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011, both under the leadership of MS Dhoni. Sehwag was felicitated ahead of the day’s play in the fourth Test between India and South Africa 2015 at Delhi by Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary Anurag Thakur. India have already won the series having registered emphatic wins at Mohali and Nagpur. India are eager to make it 3-0, whereas, South Africa will want to salvage some pride by registering a win in the series,. In his speech, Sehwag went on to thank all his teammates, family and captains for supporting him throughout his career. he also jokingly said that he will gift his children a Ferrari, if they go past his 319-run record in any format. In this match, India had won the toss and elected to bat first. India have won the toss in all the matches in the series.
