Virender Sehwag-Piers Morgan Twitter war intensifies; trolls join the conversation

The Twitter war between former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag and British journalist Piers Morgan has reached to new level, with the latter striking back after a brief lull. On Wednesday, Morgan tweeted once again after it appeared that the Rio 2016 controversy had died a natural death. But rekindling it once again, Morgan tweeted a factually incorrect tweet addressing to Sehwag. In tweeting this, Morgan showed is ignorance towards India’s 9 Gold medals in Olympics history (8 by hockey team and 1 by Abhinav Bindra) as he clearly ignored it by mentioning ‘an Olympics Gold’. However, after Indian Twitter backlash and on realising his mistake, he immediately deleted it and replaced it with a new tweet where he replaced ‘an’ with another. He wrote:
He challenged Sehwag by betting a million rupees to charity on England winning an ODI World Cup before India winning another Olympic Gold. While Sehwag did not respond to it directly, the Indian Twitter trolls did not take it too kindly and came up with hilarious replies. Check some of them here:
