According to reports, India’s attacking opener Virender Sehwag has intimated the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) that he would like to feature in the middle-order after he was selected for the second and third four-day games between India A face West Indies A.

The Indian selection committee has been made aware of Sehwag’s preference, as reported by MiD Day. Sandeep Patil & Co. had picked Sehwag as an opener.

Sehwag, who lost his place in the Indian side while opening the innings, is hoping for a change of fate and is ready to ply his trade as a middle-order batsman and try to make a comeback for the home series against the West Indies, which could also see Sachin Tendulkar play in his landmark 200th Test.

This decision from Sehwag comes as his way of trying to salvage his career after Shikhar Dhawan cemented his spot at the top in the last 12 months.
