Virender Sehwag, known for his witty tweets has struck once again. He congratulated Karun Nair on becoming only the second Indian after him to score a triple century in Tests. Nair finished with 303 not out in a team total of 759 for 7 declared in the fifth Test against England at Chennai. This is also India s highest ever score in Test cricket. Nair s innings ensured that India secured a lead of 282. England will now have to bat out a little over a day to save this match. Sehwag scored a triple century twice in his career. The first time was against Pakistan in Multan in 2004, where he scored 309. He then scored 319 against South Africa at Chennai in 2008.

Nair is also now third in the list of highest individual scores by Indian batsmen in the longest format. Nair began Day Four of the match unbeaten on 71. He has added a further 232 runs on the fourth day. Before this innings, Nair had played just two innings and had a total of 17 runs at 8.5. Now he has 320 runs in his three innings at 160. Karun is known for his big scores at the domestic level for Karnataka. He scored a triple century in a Ranji Trophy 2015-15 final against Tamil Nadu. Although Karun was a part of the Indian team during their tour of Sri Lanka last year, he finally got to make his Test debut in this series, following a string of injuries to a few players.
