England batsman Jos Buttler failed to make an impact in Lancashire’s quarter-final match of  Vitality T20 Blast against Kent getting dismissed for a first-ball duck as Lancashire were to chase 134 to win.

Lancashire eventually chased down the target with relative ease in 18.4 overs with six wickets in hand. However, Buttler, who scored his maiden Test century and donned the wicket-keeping gloves in place of an injured Jonny Bairstow in the third Test at Trent Bridge, were added to the Lancashire squad for the quarter-final match.

Buttler was stumped off Joe Denly by Sam Billings. Test opener Keaton Jennings, batting two down, top-scored for Lancashire with a 40-ball 46 to guide the chase. Captain Dane Vilas made 30 while Joe Clark made 18-ball 29.

After electing to bat first, Kent were in trouble at 22 for 3, before Sam Billings (37) and Sean Dickson (17) steadied the ship. Bowlers Calum Haggett (18) and Iram Qayyum (21) pushed Kent’s score to 133 for 9 in 20 overs.

For Lancashire, Matt Parkinson picked 3 for 27 in his four.
