Wicket-keeper batsman Matthew Wade of Victoria is likely to become Australia’s understudy wicketkeeper after Tim Paine suffered a finger injury.
Wade will be the understudy wicketkeeper for at least a month, The Age reported.
Paine fractured the index finger of right hand while training with Tasmania last week. The injury doesn’t need a surgery but could rule out Paine for at least four-to-six weeks to heal.
It is the third time in the past two years that 26-year-old Paine has broken a finger on his right hand while keeping.
