The Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2016 is slowly gaining momentum with every passing day. Thanks to the presence of major cricketing stars like Chris Gayle, AB de Villiers, Dwayne Bravo, Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, Hashim Amla et al, the quality of cricket has been fantastic so far. A case in point is the most recent game between Guyana Amazon Warriors (GAW) and Jamaica Tallawahs (JT), where the latter were precariously placed at 2 for 4 in pursuit of a modest 129. This is when big-hitting all-rounder Russell joined his Bangladeshi counterpart Shakib Al Hasan in the middle. The former hit some lusty blows and added 41 runs with Shakib for the fifth wicket before special effort from Adam Zampa sent him packing. On the final delivery of the fifth over, Russell swept a Veerasammy Permaul-delivery towards square leg at tremendous speed. Zampa, who was positioned there, dived towards his left stretching both his hands in the air. However, the ball that was travelling at a lightning fast speed got stuck into his right hand. The incredible effort from the Australian had almost sealed the game for his side with score reading 5 for 45, but Shakib and JT skipper Gayle took their side home.
