After a humiliating defeat in the One-day International (ODI) series, India will now face South Africa in the two-match Test series, starting today in Johannesburg. South African captain, Graeme Smith has already set the tone for the series by saying that this series would be a test of character for the young Indian team. Indian skipper, MS Dhoni has also agreed with his counterpart, and has said that he believes this new Indian team is capable of standing up to the challenge. Having lost the ODIs by a huge margin, this is India’s chance to silence their critics. This will be India’s first Test match in the post-Tendulkar era. The new look Indian side will be eager to prove a point or two, on South African soil. The Indian batsmen, especially, will be looking to occupy the crease for longer durations and cope with the pace and bounce of Dale steyn and co. on the Johannesburg and Durban tracks.
