The International League T20 (ILT20) final on Sunday at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium witnessed a tense moment when Pakistan fast bowler Naseem Shah and MI Emirates captain Kieron Pollard were involved in a heated on-field exchange.
The verbal altercation took place during a high-pressure phase of the match and quickly became one of the major talking points of the title clash. Umpires and players from both sides had to step in to calm the situation, underlining the intensity and competitive spirit of the final.
The incident occurred in the 11th over of MI Emirates’ innings. After Naseem delivered a sharp delivery that Pollard defended straight back to the bowler, the young pacer appeared to exchange words with the experienced West Indies batter.
Pollard immediately responded by walking towards Naseem and confronting him, leading to a brief but fiery exchange in the middle of the pitch.

Naseem finished with outstanding figures of 3/18, playing a key role in Desert Vipers’ 46-run victory. The win sealed Desert Vipers’ first-ever ILT20 title, marking a historic moment for the franchise.
Speaking after the match, Naseem highlighted the pressure of playing in a final and praised the team effort behind the victory.
“The pressure of a final is different. The credit goes to everyone, batting and bowling. Our combination was good, we had good options with both bat and ball, and the team management used them well. Everyone gave their 100% and the end result is in front of us,†Naseem told broadcasters.
The dramatic encounter and Naseem’s match-winning performance ensured the ILT20 final will be remembered not just for the result, but also for the passion and intensity displayed on the field.
