Fan breached security to meet Kohli during RCB vs KKR

During the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season opener between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Eden gardens in Kolkata, an incident happened where a fan broke through the security and invaded the pitch to meet Virat Khli.

This incident happened a few moments after Virat had reached the 50-run mark. The fan jumped over the guardrail fence and ran through the field towards Kohli. The batter might have gotten shocked as the fan fell on the ground while holding Kohli’s legs.

The intruder was then escorted out of the ground and according to reports, he was later arrested by authorities. Though there is no surety about this report, there is, however, the video of how the fan entered the ground.

Speaking about the match, KKR had batted first, and posted a score of 174 on board. Their batting witnessed fall of wickets at regular intervals and there was constant pressure on the team.

RCB came to bat on a strong note, scoring quick runs. Virat Kohli was the star of the match as he had played his first T20 match after the 2024 T20 World Cup, and made way for his team towards victory with an unbeaten score of 59 runs.
