Carlos Brathwaite was dismissed at the stroke of lunch after completing a brave half-century, with West Indies losing their seventh wicket with 173 on board on Day Three of the second Test against Australia at Melbourne. The West Indian debutant, who earlier brought up his half-century with a four, six and a single off Nathan Lyon in the 62nd over, was dismissed by the latter for 59 off 126 balls. Lyon took his third wicket as a result, jumping high to his right to take a fantastic return catch, and bring an end to the dangerous-looking 90-run partnership. Darren Bravo, meanwhile was batting on 35 off 130 balls at the other end, with West Indies trailing the hosts by another 378 runs with two more sessions to go in the day. LIVE CRICKET SCORECARD: Australia vs West Indies 2015-16, 2nd Test at Melbourne, Day 3

Brathwaite had a rough start to the day earlier after he copped a nasty blow to the helmet off a James Pattinson bouncer in the 46th over. He was clean bowled by Pattinson a few deliveries later, but was given a fresh lease of life as the ‘Man of the Match’ from the first Test had overstepped, granting the debutant a fresh lease of life. Brathwaite made full use of the second chance to make his debut a memorable one, while Bravo was busy stonewalling at the other end, having hit only three boundaries in his 130-ball innings so far. Brathwaite survived off a Pattinson no-ball for a second time in the session in the 66th over, before the innings finally came to an end five overs later.
