West Indies cricketers to play in Ram Slam T20 2014

Oct 27, 2014
After their cancelled tour of India, the West Indies players such as captain Dwayne Bravo, Chris Gayle, Darren Sammy and Andre Russell have signed up for the Ram Slam T20 to be held in South Africa, confirmed former cricketer Graeme Smith, the tournament director.
Kieron Pollard will play for the Cape Cobras, Dwane Bravo will turn out for Dolphins. While Russell will play for the Knights, Gayle will be a part of Highveld Lions and Sammy will be turning out for Titans.
The West Indies players pulled out of the Indian tour midway after the fourth One-Day International (ODI) because of their ongoing dispute regarding payment with the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) and West Indies Players Association (WIPA).
Smith told SuperSport, “I am delighted to announce that our franchises have recruited some of the world’s best T20 players. In my discussions with all the super stars it has been satisfying to note their eagerness to play in the Ram Slam as they regard South Africa as one of the best cricket leagues in the world.”
Apart from Dwayne Bravo, who will be missing the opening match of the tournament on Sunday, all overseas players are available.
