England were dismissed for 428 in reply to West Indies’ first innings 370, a lead of 58 runs, at tea on the third day of the second Test at Trent Bridge on Sunday.

England captain Andrew Strauss top-scored with 141, the opener’s second century in as many matches following his 122 in a five-wicket first Test win at Lord’s that gave the hosts a 1-0 lead in this three-match series.

But West Indies checked England’s progress with fast bowler Ravi Rampaul taking three wickets for 75 runs in 32 overs as the hosts failed to achieve the decisive first innings lead they would have wanted on a pitch that remained good for batting. (AFP)
