Play resumed in the crucial One-day international between Sri Lanka and the West Indies in the tri-nation series after rain delayed the proceedings of the match on the reserve day in Port of Spain in Trinidad.

The match has been reduced to a 45-overs-a-side clash after all the stoppages in play.

Persistent rain had washed out the day on Sunday, forcing the officials to push the ODI to the reserve day but drizzle followed by heavy downpour today at the Queen’s Park Oval once again delayed the proceedings.

On Sunday, Sri Lanka were 60 for three in 19 overs after being sent into bat by the West Indies when the heavens opened up.

Lahiru Thirimanne (13) and Kumar Sangakkara (11) were at the crease.

The match resumed from the same score on Monday.
