‘WhatsApp Group for Namaz’: Imam ul Haq reveals Shocking fact about Pakistan captain

The condition of Pakistan cricket team is bad. After witnessing a loss to New Zealand and South Africa in the tri-nation series, the team then got eliminated form the Champions Trophy 2025. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) was hosting an ICC event in nearly three decades, but the team’s dismal performances witnessed them being eliminated.

Pakistan captain Mohamed Rizwan has a captaincy that has surprised everyone. Fans and experts are fuming on the team selection committee. Amid all this, a video has been going viral on social media, where opening batter Imam-ul-Haq made revelation about Rizwan’s captaincy.

Imam stated in a podcast that Rizwan is very religious, and constantly keeps the team to follow the same path, following all their religious beliefs and ways.

As he spoke on the Ultra Edge podcast, Imam gave an interesting information about Rizwan’s captaincy. He explained some of the habits that the player did outside the field while talking about Pakistan’s dressing room. When he was questioned on who the leader of the team is, he giggled and said,  “Who should I name as the leader? Everyone is fighting among themselves.”

Imam them put the light on Rizwan and stated, “Rizzi (Rizwan) arranges hotel rooms for namaaz. Gathers everyone for namaaz. Lays out white sheets for namaaz. Stops non-Muslims from entering and even creates WhatsApp groups for namaaz.”

The video has come up on social media at a time when Pakistan is facing harsh criticism for their poor performance in the Champions Trophy. They got eliminated from the group-stage matches of the Champions Trophy 2025 after facing defeats to India and New Zealand.

After the poor performances in the first two matches, their last match was against Bangladesh team, who was also eliminated from the tournament as they faced defeats to India and New Zealand. The match between Pakistan and Bangladesh would have been a dead-rubber as their outcome would have had no impact on the rest of the tournaments. However, in a turn of events, that clash got washed off as rain persisted throughout the day in the Rawalpindi Stadium.
