Yuzvendra Chahal has revealed that whenever the likes of him and Kuldeep Yadav have a doubt about their bowling, they always approach MS Dhoni for advice.

It’s no secret how much influence Dhoni commands in the current India setup despite quitting away as team captain quite some time ago. His wealth of experience and reading of the game is second to none and will be a key member of the India squad that will aim for a third ICC World Cup title later this year.

Chahal, said he always seeks the advice of senior players. “Whenever I feel something, I always talk to the senior players — Virat (Kohli) bhaiya, Mahi (Dhoni) bhai, Rohit (Sharma) bhaiya, Shikhar (Dhawan) bhaiya. They always help me. When Virat bhaiya is not there, I always [speak to] Rohit bhaiya and ask him what to do and what not to do,” Chahal told Hindustan Times.

Throwing more light on the equation he shares with veteran Dhoni, the 28-year-old said, “Mahi bhai and I play PUBG together sometimes (laughs). Seven-eight people play PUBG for two hours. We go for dinners, [have] fun. It’s a big thing to play under Mahi bhai. He was my first captain. Whenever we need help in bowling, Kuldeep and I always ask him.”

Having played 40 ODIs and 29 T20Is so far, Chahal said he never thought he will be play for the national team one day. “Ten years back, while playing Ranji Trophy, I didn’t think I’d play for India. The journey has been very nice” he said.
