Adelaide Strikers wicketkeeper in Women’s Big Bash League 2015-16 Sarah Taylor has acknowledged that Brisbane Heat cricketer Jess Jonassen is a phenomenal fielder. Australian woman cricketer Jonnassen also took 3-11 and made an unbeaten 63. Naturally, she was named player of the match for her all-round performance which helped Brisbane Heat win the T20 game. Taylor, an English woman cricketer added Jonassen’s brilliant fielding and her slow left-arm orthodox bowling and also her batting played a crucial role in Brisbane Heat’s win over Adelaide Strikers. During Strikers’ innings, Shelly Nitschke played a shot towards backward point and ran for a quick single. Jonassen picked the ball quickly and her throw to the keeper was very accurate to dismiss Taylor. The decision was taken to the third umpire and Taylor was declared run-out.Women’s Big Bash League 2015: Jess Jonassen and Grace Harris sign up for Brisbane Heat

Taylor was quoted by Cricket Australia’s official website saying after the match, “I didn’t realise it was her, no, to be honest with you! It was more a case of the ball has gone into the off-side, we’ve got to get as many runs as possible, you kind of hedge your bets in T20 cricket – and it didn’t come off that time.  There were probably a few close ones earlier in the innings, but Jonassen’s a phenomenal fielder and lesson learnt I think!” READ: Sarah Taylor becomes first woman to play in men’s grade cricket in Australia

Meanwhile, Jonassen said self confidence was the key to her team’s victory, “I think it’s just a matter of believing in ourselves. Belief goes a long way and we just had to back ourselves and trust that we had the capacity to be able to get the wins on the board.  We have a really good side and the fact that we could just execute our skills – at the end of the day – that goes a long way.  I think for us as a team we try to put all three facets of the game together. So yes, for me personally today with Grace going out early I had to step up a little bit. I was just really pleased to be there at the end and get the win.”
