The Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 is set to begin on Friday in Navi Mumbai. Defending champions Mumbai Indians will face Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the opening match at the DY Patil Stadium.

This season of the WPL is expected to be very important as it will be followed by the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup later this year. The tournament will give Indian selectors a close look at both senior players and young talents ahead of the global event.

Unlike previous editions, WPL 2026 has been moved from its usual February–March window and will now be played in January. The league stage will also feature two double-headers for the first time, giving fans more action on select days.

All league matches will be played in Navi Mumbai and Vadodara. The top teams will qualify for the playoffs, with the Eliminator scheduled on February 3 and the Final on February 5 in Vadodara.
