Pakistan continued their good show with the ball on Day 3 with England still trailing by 86 runs. Resuming Day 3 on 257 for 7 England had Chris Woakes and Stuart Broad at the crease batting at 35 and 12 runs respectively. Wahab Riaz and Yasir Shah opened the bowling for Pakistan. Wahab was the first to pick a wicket on Day 3, getting the wicket of cleaning up Broad for 17 runs. Wahab bowled full pitched ball which hit and boots and went on to rattle the stumps. Second wicket of the day belonged to Yasir who continued his dream run in this match picking his sixth wicket. Yasir caught Steven Finn on the pads for a 10-ball 5 to down England 9 down. Earlier on Day 2, Yasir Shah picked up 5 wickets as England ended Day 2 of the first Test against Pakistan at 253 for 7. Yasir removed Root, James Vince and Gary Balance in quick succession to reduce England to 153 for 4 at tea. Alastair Cook was England s top-scorer with 81 before Mohammad Aamer bowled him. This was Aamer s first wicket in Tests since his return to international cricket after a span of six years. Pakistan were bowled out for 339 after a superb 114 from skipper Misbah-ul-Haq. Chris Woakes was the star for England as he finished with figures of 6 for 70.
