Younis Khan, Azhar Ali put Pakistan in advantage at stumps on Day 1 against Australia in 2nd Test

Younis Khan completed his third consecutive century to help Pakistan reach 304 for the loss of two wickets at stumps on Day One of the second Test match against Australia. Younis was well supported by Azhar Ali who too completed his century. Both of them combined to form a 208-run partnership.

For Australia, as many as eight bowlers tried their luck with the cherry but weren’t able to find much success. The final session, which was 33-over long yielded no wicket, and saw the likes Steven Smith, Michael Clarke, Mitchell Marsh and Glenn Maxwell bowl some overs to give their regular bowlers some rest.

Earlier in the day, Ahmed Shehzad and Mohammad Hafeez got Pakistan to a slow but steady start. Both openers were looking in good touch, but unfortunately lost their wickets due to a lapse of concentration.

Australia are seeking to make a comeback after being handed a 221-run defeat in the first Test, while Pakistan would like to win their first Test series against Australia in 20 years.
