Yuvraj Singh slammed an unbeaten half-century as India beat Ireland by five wickets in their World Cup Group B match at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Yuvraj scored 50 off 75 balls, packed with three fours while Yusuf Pathan scored a breezy 30 off 24 balls, studded with three sixes.

Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni fell lbw to George Dockrell for 34Â in purusit of 208 for victory. Dhoni added 67 runs with Yuvraj after after the unfortunate run out of Virat Kohli for 34 following a misunderstanding with Yuvraj
Kohli forged a 50-run stand as India repaired the innings after Trent Johnston dealt two early blows, removing Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir in first six overs.
Sehwag got a leading edge and popped an easy catch to Johnston. Gambhir chipped a full delivery on the leg stump to Alex Cusack at square leg.
Brief Score: Ireland 207 all out in 47.5 overs (William Porterfield 75, Niall OâBrien 46; Yuvraj Singh 5 for 31, Zaheer Khan 3 for 30) lost to India 210 for 5 in 46 overs (Yuvraj Singh 50*, Sachin Tendulkar 38, Virat Kohli 34, Mahendra Singh Dhoni 34; Trent Johnston 2 for 16, George Dockrell 2 for 49) by 5 wickets.
