Yuvraj Singh belligerent for Royal Challengers Bangalore against Delhi Daredevils in IPL 7 match

Yuvraj Singh was looking in terrific form for Royal Challengers Bangalore against Delhi Daredevils in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2014 game played at Bangalore. Mohammad Shami came in to bowl the 18th over, and conceded only a single off the first ball to Yuvraj. Rana got another single to put Yuvraj back on strike. He hit his fourth six off the next ball to jump to 36 off 17 balls. He got another single off the next ball. Rana got another boundary off the final delivery.

The 17th over was bowled by Imran Tahir. He started well, as Yuvraj could only block the delivery. He got down on one knee and slog swept the next ball for six. He followed it up with another six over long off, as memories of his knock against Rajasthan came to mind. He hit the next ball down the ground for yet another six. He followed it up with a single. Even Rana hit the final ball hard for a couple, as RCB got a massive 21 runs off the over.

Rahul Shukla bowled the 16th over. Rana got a single off the first ball. Yuvraj faced a free hit but was unable to make connection. He got a single off the third ball. Rana got a couple of runs to follow that, and then got two more off the next ball. They were able to get eight runs off the over.

Earlier, Yuvraj Singh was looking very good. AB de Villiers got a boundary off the first ball of Siddharth Kaul’s over, but was bowled off the next ball. Sachin Rana was the new batsman, but he was unable to score off his first three balls before getting a single to end the over.

Imran Tahir came back on to bowl. Yuvraj was on strike, and slashed hard to get a boundary off the second ball of the over. It was an outside edge, but Yuvraj got enough on it to get four. Tahir followed it up with a couple of dot balls. There was some trouble off the fifth ball as Yuvraj ambled for a couple of runs but there was a direct hit, but Yuvraj was in  comfortably. He took another couple off the last ball.

Mohammad Shami came on to bowl the 13th over after the previous two overs were smashed for plenty. He conceded singles off the first two balls before inducing a false shot from Parthiv Patel, who spooned a catch off the slower ball to the fielder. Yuvraj Singh was the new man in.  He advanced down the ground and got off the mark with a single. Only three came off the over.

Earlier, Parthiv Patel started to score runs freely as Siddharth Kaul came in to bowl his second over, and was taken for three off the first two balls by de Villiers and Parthiv. The batsmen weren’t getting a lot of boundaries but were taking lots of quick singles and doubles. Murali Vijay misfielded one at the boundary and AB de Villiers got four. Off the next ball, de Villiers hit another six. He finished the over with another boundary as Rahul Shukla misfielded one at the boundary. 18 runs came off the over.

Imran Tahir came in to bowl the 11th over. Parthiv got a quick single off the first ball, before de Villiers picked up a couple of runs. Off the fourth ball, Parthiv stepped out and struck the ball for a boundary down the ground. He found the fence again off the final delivery to make it 14 runs for the over.

Earlier, Chris Gayle started well But at the right time, Rahul Shukla, the fast bowler dismissed him. It came at a time when Gayle was looking dangerous for Bangalore. His partner, Parthiv Patel has been playing well at the other end. Once Gayle got out Delhi were able to stem the run flow to some extent. Duminy, who came back into the attack bowled a fine sixth over. He was followed up by Shukla mixing up his pace well to keep the batsmen guessing. The odd delivery he bowled quick enough and then there was that slower one to surprise the batsman.  Imran Tahir, the leg-spinner  was introduced into the attack, during the eighth over of the game.
